A letter to family, friends and readers

Dear Family, friends and readers,

This time of year makes me reflect on the year that is coming to an end and a New Year that will soon begin.

As I reflect over this year, and the past six years, I not only think about the hardships our family  has endured, but I am reminded every day to give praise and thanks to our Lord for the many blessings that have come along with these hardships.  This post is not intended to make you feel sympathy, but to actually thank you and tell you how much we love you all.

Some of you know very well the situations we, as a family, have faced.  These past six years have been incredibly challenging and heartbreaking times for each of us individually, our family as a whole, and on our marriage.  By the Grace of God, we have managed to endure, grow closer and to find humor, laughter and above all blessings that we are and always will be eternally grateful for.

So to every family member, friend and stranger who has reached out to help in our time of need, we want you to know that your financial contributions, your well wishes, your prayers, your strength, your cards and gifts have meant the world to both my husband and me.  Those of you who have stood by  and believed in us when others were ready (and did) give up on us we are especially grateful for.  We thank God every day on bended knee for each of you.  If you did not know that, I hope you do now.

Though there are more difficult times ahead for us and we see no end in sight thus far, we will continue to pray and give thanks to God for our blessings and for each of you.  We will continue to pray and have faith that things will work out.  Without faith, we truly would be in a place so dark we might never see the light again.

In closing, I just want to wish you a beautiful Holiday season, a very Merry Christmas and bright and wonderful New Year.  May God bless and touch you all with his goodness and grace just as he has touched us through you.

With love and gratitude,
